Tracy Miller
President
I’m Tracy Miller and have been serving as President of the church council since January of this year. My family and I first started attending Zion after we met the Schmidt’s through the Cooperative Preschool. After attending our first service, and seeing so many welcoming faces, we knew that we had found our church home. I’ve also served as a Sunday School teacher for the past 5 years, a volunteer for Vacation Bible School, and member of the Education Committee.
My husband Scott was raised in Freeland, and that’s where we’ve chosen to raise our 9-year old twins, Evan and Rowan. Scott works at Dow Chemical and I work from home as a call center supervisor for Working Solutions. We enjoy traveling with the kids, cycling, and spending as much time as we can with friends and family. I come from a long line of Michigan State Spartans, and bleed green and white!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Doug Harrington
Vice President
I’m Doug Harrington. I became a member of Zion in the fall of 2015. I serve on Zion’s Worship Committee, and enjoy being a regular worship volunteer on Sunday mornings. I was born and raised in Saginaw, and have resided here my entire life. I’ve been a salon owner and stylist for 39 years.
When I’m not working I can be found doing stuff with a small group of friends. I’m always up for a road trip or some kind of travel adventure. Along with that you will also see me at church, and I’m always willing to jump in and help out in any way that I can.

Pegg Woodby
Secretary
I’m Pegg Woodby. My husband, Scott, and I began attending Zion after being invited to the church by Doug Harrington in late 2018. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed Pastor Rob’s message and have kept coming back. I began serving as Secretary in January 2020.
I grew up on a small farm outside of Midland and have lived here all my life. Scott, my husband of 35 years, grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and moved here in 1980. We built a house on property that was a part of my family’s farm and remain there today. We have one son and are fortunate that he moved back to Midland after living in Chicago for nine years.
I was a Records Management Specialist for Consumers Energy before leaving to raise our son. Most recently I worked as an Office Manager for 17 years at Midland Montessori School and now, mostly retired, work 10 hours a week for an adoption/foster care agency. My husband works for Midland Cogeneration Venture and is planning to retire in 2021.
We are avid campers, love to travel, enjoy spending time with friends and working in our yard.

Patrick Kirts
Treasurer
I’m Patrick Kirts, and I’m the Treasurer at Zion. I’m originally from West Chicago, Illinois, which is about an hour West of downtown Chicago. My wife Jenn is also from West Chicago.
I attended college at Oak Hills Christian College, while my wife attended Augustana College, in Rock Island, Illinois.
I’m currently employed at Chemical Bank, and our family, lives in Midland Michigan. We’ve been attending Zion Freeland with our son Tate for approximately 4 years and really enjoy worshiping at Zion.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
James 1:2-5 New International Version (NIV)
