Tracy Miller, President
I’m Tracy Miller and have been serving as President of the church council since January of this year. My family and I first started attending Zion after we met the Schmidt’s through the Cooperative Preschool. After attending our first service, and seeing so many welcoming faces, we knew that we had found our church home. I’ve also served as a Sunday School teacher for the past 5 years, a volunteer for Vacation Bible School, and member of the Education Committee.
My husband Scott was raised in Freeland, and that’s where we’ve chosen to raise our 9-year old twins, Evan and Rowan. Scott works at Dow Chemical and I work from home as a call center supervisor for Working Solutions. We enjoy traveling with the kids, cycling, and spending as much time as we can with friends and family. I come from a long line of Michigan State Spartans, and bleed green and white!
Lisa Knoerr, Vice President
Lisa became a member of Zion Lutheran in 2000.
Lisa was blessed to be married almost 18 years ago, at Zion to an amazing man, Paul. Through life’s many ups and downs she finds continued strength in the power of prayer. Lisa and Paul have a son, Calvin, who was baptized and made his first communion at Zion.
Lisa is a Registered Pharmacist ( graduate of Ferris State University College of Pharmacy,) but has mostly been a stay at home parent since her son was born. Currently, Lisa stays busy raising Calvin, working at Spartan Acres Inc., and serving as a member of the Freeland Community School’s Board of Education.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends, boating, skiing and even snowmobiling. She especially enjoys her favorite past time, watching Calvin play hockey.
Rachel Engelhardt, Secretary
Rachel has been married to her wonderful husband, Chris, for almost 9 years now. She is constantly amazed at the fact that God would allow them to accomplish the things they have together. They have three children; Destiny (13), Alivia (8) and Camden (1 year), in which have been baptized into the church as well.
Rachel earned her undergraduate degree from Northwood University in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science from Saginaw Valley State University. She is employed with Dow Chemical as a Supply Chain Planner.
The things Rachel loves most in life are traveling, spending time with family/friends, and enjoying time with her kids. Rachel loves practicing yoga and tries to exercise when time allows.
Gordon Gatza, Treasurer
Gordon has been Zion’s Treasurer since early 2018.
